An ode to Hirons, the most underrated store in Eugene
I would be lost without you
You just have to go to the corner of Franklin Boulevard and Villard Street to find the answer to getting through college: every UO student either knows or has heard of the magical tales of Hirons. The contents of this small convenience store are life savers: anything from prescription medications, school supplies, to makeup and even costumes.
Any college student knows how much Hiron’s will be there for you in your time of need.
First, they understand you as a college student. Every quote on every mug, sock, or water bottle resonates with your lifeless soul during week 5 when midterms are in full force.
Just by being in Hirons you may be revitalized with laughter at the humor in every small item they sell.
Their sock collection is also on point. I had never felt so connected to such an underrated piece of clothing until I visited Hirons.
You can even come to Hirons to decorate. They have loads of knick knacks and tapestries. Maybe you need some tea candles to set the mood or keep it #lit in your house. Hiron’s provides.
Or if you are into succulents they have that too. One of the first things on display when you walk through the door is the wall of cacti.
Hiron’s also holds a trove of costumes and clothing, whether you need one for Halloween or to go to that masquerade party that your one friend thought would be a great idea. Either way, you can be prepared with feather boas, hip sunglasses and, hell, maybe you will wear that horse mask everyone else despises.
The possiblities for a costume at Hirons are endless.
So what else could Hiron’s offer, if they offer all of this? School supplies. Yes, even among their array of fashionable pieces of clothing Hiron’s still provides you what you need to survive in school. And, it is cheaper than the duck store (just saying). If you are ever in fear that you don’t have a something necessary to pursue your education, beside $300 textbooks, try stopping by.
Don’t forget that you can also get your makeup from Hirons. Now, I’m unsure if the quality holds up to any brand at Ulta, but it’s honestly not a bad option for a one stop shop.
And I also found this dope hat.
So thank you Hiron’s for being a great provider for lost college students. You give us more than we deserve and we are forever grateful.
