UPDATE: Missing Ohio State student found after a week and is now ‘in good hands’

One week later, his sister can finally say Max has been found

UPDATE [2/16/17]: Missing student Max Tongtae has been found, according to this Facebook post. His sister, Pauline Rinthara, reported that “he is in good hands for the time being. Thank you all for sharing. It was appreciated, every comment was noticed. The amount of shares was incredible.”

UPDATE [2/14/17, 8:58am]: The police were able to track the location of the missing Ohio State grad student to a restaurant in Ontario, Canada after following up on charges made to Max’s bank account. According to a Facebook update from Max’s sister, witnesses at the restaurant have alleged that Tongtae was the one who used the card. Detectives on the case are working to obtain video footage of Max at the restaurant to confirm that it was him.

UPDATE [2/13/17, 4:07pm]: According to bank statements, Max’s last transaction was is in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. His sister posted the update to Facebook this afternoon. Police in the area have been alerted.

UPDATE [2/12/17, 3:20pm]: Max’s sister, Pauline Rinthara, told The Tab Ohio State that they have no new information on the whereabouts of her brother.

UPDATE [2/12/17, 12:43pm]: Max Tongtae who also goes by the name Natenon Tongtae is still missing. According to an update, he may have last been seen on Thursday at 999 Greentree Rd. in Pittsburgh, PA at the BP.


[2/11/17, 6:00pm] Max Tongtae, a student and full-time CABS employee at Ohio State, has been reported missing. He was last seen in Pittsburgh at 7:30pm on Wednesday Feb. 8, 2017 after leaving work early in Columbus.

Max’s sister, Pauline Rinthara, posted about her brother’s disappearance on Facebook, asking “everyone to be on the lookout for my brother.” She says Max was wearing glasses, a white OSU polo, and black pants.

According to a Facebook post on Missing & Murdered, Max had no reason to be in Pittsburgh and may be in need of immediate care due to medical issues. He was last seen driving a Blue Chrysler van with a black Air Force sticker on the back window, Ohio plates GVP2768.

Max is 24 years old, approximately 5’5″ and 110 lbs. He has brown hair, brown eyes, wears glasses and has a black freckle on his right temple.

“This is completely out of character as Max would never miss going to work or maintaining contact with loved ones,” writes the Facebook post.
