The cringe two-word response Love Island USA stars get when they ask for the time
Austin spilled all the BTS secrets
The Love Island USA stars have no concept of time, but it doesn’t stop them from trying to get a response from producers. Austin has come out to reveal what they’d tell him whenever he’d ask for the actual time, and it’s the cringiest two-word reply.

Basically, the Love Island USA stars would hear the phrase, “Island time,” whenever they’d ask what the real time is. With no access to any clocks and fake times on their phones, they can only guess what time it is by daylight and night skies.
The lights automatically come on when they’re expected to wake up, and because they don’t have access to anything they want (such as their phone to message people on the outside), they often have to ask producers for specific items or information.
Rob from season six previously said he asked for a journal to write down his thoughts and feelings and they told him that the beach hut was his journal, while producers set all clocks at different time so nobody in there knows what time it actually is.
They are believed to change the time because they often film until 3am to 4am and wake up around noon. And as for those recouplings? Multiple former UK islanders have revealed they can take hours to film because they do their speeches multiple times.
Deb Chubb, who starred in season four, once said she would often try to peek at the producers and show crews’ phones to check the time, as all of the islanders in there had totally different times on their phones, with the clock sometimes disabled. It’s actually so wild!
