Cierra was ‘very upset’ and ‘tried to apologise’ when she was ‘kicked out’ of Love Island USA
She was removed from the villa over resurfaced racist posts
Cierra was removed from the Love Island USA villa over the weekend following a resurfaced racist post, but according to sources she tried to save herself from leaving. A production source insider claimed to The US Sun that the show’s crews had to tell her to exit the show.
They claimed that what happened would have created a lot of prejudice and it’s the kind of behaviour that is “simply unacceptable,” revealing that Cierra didn’t want to leave the show and tried to apologise for what she did, but it wasn’t enough to keep her in there.
She got upset when producers told her that she had to leave the show as soon as possible, they claimed, but Cierra allegedly thought she could “save her spot on the show.” The insider continued, claiming: “It was never an option and we had to decide quickly and inform her.”
The insider said: “Cierra was against leaving the show at first, and thought an apology would be enough, but it doesn’t work like this. She felt bad, she was very upset but we had to let her go, as we can’t have a bad image and allow people use such unacceptable words.”
They alleged: “Other participants got really upset at her, and the atmosphere in the show got unbearable and very tense. Some other candidates wanted answers fast, to have her out of the show as she made people feel bad and that created a very tense atmosphere.”
Noting that it’s the second time this season that they have had to deal with issues linked with racists slurs or posts, following Yulissa being removed from the villa for using the n-word, as “that is terrible to deal with that as we want our show to be respectful of everyone.”
They aim to “condemn racism and discrimination in every single way.” A second source also commented that Cierra was very reluctant to leave, alleging: “She didn’t want to leave at first, but we gave her no choice as we decided that we had no other options but let her go.”
“We can’t accept this kind of behaviour and word used. I don’t know if Cierra realised at first how bad the situation was, but we told her that she had to go, and tried to apologise and just thought it would be cool but no,” the source added.
Producers have not specifically said that the racist posts were the reason for Cierra’s removal.
