It turns out axed Islander Yulissa was arrested before her Love Island USA appearance
She's got a very controversial past
Axed Love Island USA cast member Yulissa was removed from the villa after videos of her saying a slur resurfaced, and now it’s been discovered that she was arrested prior to joining the show.
In an incident report discovered by the US Sun, Yulissa was allegedly arrested and charged with driving under the influence whilst in Miami in July 2024.
The report stated that an officer saw a car that was “all over the roadway” and “unable to maintain a lane”, nearly “at times collided with the median concrete wall.”
The incident report read: “The defendant was observed to have bloodshot, watery eyes, and I could smell an odor of an unknown alcohol beverage emitting from inside the vehicle.”
Yulissa reportedly told the officer that she’d had nothing to drink and had been “driving normally”, following which the officer asked her to perform a standard sobriety test.
The report continued: “She ultimately agreed to perform the tests. As the Defendant spoke to me, I could smell an unknown odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her face and mouth area.
“When asked again if she had consumed any alcoholic beverage, the defendant stated that she had a shot with one of her clients at work.”
The report continued to allege: “The defendant was advised that she was being arrested for driving under the influence. At approximately 3:57am she was placed in handcuffs with a double lock.”
She then refused to give a sample of her breath to determine the blood alcohol content. The report stated: “The defendant was allowed to call her family members to pick up her car.
“While speaking on the phone with her family, she made multiple spontaneous statements about her drinking and driving.”
Yulissa was then booked and charged with DUI, and paid a $1,000 bond, later pleasing not guilty to the charge against her, calling the arrest “unlawful.”
However, on March 19th 2025, Yulissa agreed to participate in the Back in Track Program.
The terms read: “If you are accepted by the State Attorney’s Office and comply and successfully complete all conditions of the Back on Track Program, you will then be able to enter a plea and receive a withhold of adjudication on a reduced charge of reckless driving.”
Yulissa will participate in the program for 12 months and will receive a suspended sentence, with her next court hearing taking place on April 6th, 2026.
