All the signs Love Is Blind’s Lydia and Milton were sadly destined to split from the start
One red flag outshines the rest
Love Is Blind stars Lydia and Milton left the show in season five ready to embark on married life. Although things appeared to get off to a romantic start for the pair, they’ve now revealed they have broken up. People had high hopes for the two lasting, but in all honesty, it seems there were some telltale signs, even early on, that things wouldn’t go to plan for them. Let’s take a look at all the signs Love Is Blind’s Lydia and Milton were sadly destined to split from the start.
Lydia’s past with Uche on Love Is Blind

Throwing it back to Lydia and Milton’s first foray into reality TV fame, and there were arguably signs there that they weren’t a great match.
For starters, the whole Uche thing was quite bizarre.
During season five, it was revealed that Lydia had previously dated another contestant, Uche Okoroha.
This only brought on some trust issues and past ex-related drama that was in no way helpful to Lydia and Milton’s budding romance.
The vibe wasn’t there

Let’s be honest: Lydia was full of energy, intensity, and passion. Milton? A laid-back, monotone spreadsheet-loving king.
On paper, opposites attract. But watching them interact, it felt less like balance and more like two people trying to convince themselves (and the audience) that this could work.
From awkward jokes to lukewarm kisses, the vibe often read ‘situationship’ more than soulmate during the couple’s Love Is Blind days.
Lydia wanted emotional vulnerability
One aspect of Lydia and Milton’s romance people could’ve assumed would be a major red flag was their age gap.
Milton was 25 and Lydia was 32. But, she’s not saying that’s really a reason they broke up in the end.
During Love Is Blind season five, we saw Lydia and Milton’s relationship develop.
After almost three years of marriage, Lydia said on the What’s The Reality? podcast that “lack of emotional availability, maturity, support and communication” were real issues for her in the marriage.
Throwing it back to the pods, and we can see Lydia telling Milton: “I don’t think we have been vulnerable with each other.”
She wanted to know his “biggest trauma in life” right off the bat.
Milton did open up, and told Lydia about a health condition he has that means he won’t live a long life.
He said on the show that his spine has the tendency to “collapse on itself.”
But, it seemed that level of opening up wasn’t enough as Lydia cited a lack of emotional availability as a reason for the couple’s break-up.
Family members weren’t helping

When Lydia and Milton were attempting to find love through a social experiment, they didn’t have the full support of all of their families.
A big red flag in their dating journey came along when Milton’s mom and sister had some choice responses to his decision to get engaged sight unseen.
His sister called the engagement “phony” and questioned why he wanted to get married, while his mother labeled Lydia’s responses as “scripted.”
In response to his family’s comments, Milton said: “I think they were just being a little bit protecting… Like any big sister, she wanted to look out for her little big brother. My sister wanted to make sure that I fully understood what I was doing. She wanted to go ahead and validate and verify things for herself, and I love my sister for that,” per Elite Daily.
The social media posts died out
If there’s one tell-tale sign that a modern-day couple has gone their separate ways, it’s Instagram going quiet.
Lydia and Milton used to post photos together often, but as of February 2024, Milton’s posts came to a standstill.
The last thing he posted on his page is a snap of himself and Lydia in happier times.
He captioned the snap: “Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone celebrating love!”
Before that, Milton also posted some really romantic things and tagged Lydia. He captioned another post: “A week-long hike through three states, hand in hand with the woman who shares my every passion for the great outdoors. Here’s to many more adventures, my love.”
According to Lydia, the couple’s romance was “non-existent” from March 2025, per her podcast interview with Amber ‘AD’ Desiree.
Lydia and Milton’s wedding day
During their wedding episode, Milton appeared nonchalant.
He commented that his big day was “Gucci,” and his casual demeanour raised questions about whether the commitment was heartfelt or halfhearted.
When it came to their vows, though, the couple didn’t seem to have doubts. And both noted how they “weren’t nervous.”
