Love Is Blind’s Lydia reveals her and Milton’s marriage began to crumble six months in
'It was a pile-up of me struggling on a daily basis'
Lydia has spoken out on why she and Milton are getting a divorce three years after tying the knot on Love Is Blind. She claims that he’d always wear video games, wanted her to be submissive, and refused to sign the divorce papers unless she signed an NDA.
Lydia reveals why she and Milton are getting a divorce
Lydia has come out to say she filed for divorce from Milton on the What’s The Reality podcast, and has confirmed their split on Instagram. She wrote, “Your last words to me spin around at night taking over my sleep and spirit. I never wished this ending; or any ending.”
After three years of marriage, Lydia claims that Milton’s family is what kept her around for so long. She said, “My mother-in-law would literally go to doctors’ appointments with me. They were more in denial than anything. I love them so much, they’re my family.”
She said she’s “grateful for him” as he “truly loved me for being me.” Lydia added how he said he loved her “emotional side but it’s the side that I struggle with the most,” revealing that he’d go out to bars every weekend but said she made bad financial decisions.
She claims their first argument was six months in
Six months after they stopped filming Love Is Blind, Lydia alleges that he was talking inappropriately about a woman from his past. “At the beginning, everything was perfect. He showed me the love I’ve never received before, he loved me for who I was,” Lydia explained.
“Now, I’m called ‘too much’. I opened his computer up and I saw an exchange with one of his best friends. His best friend sent him a picture of this woman, and he says she’s “been around his d*** lately,” and the one that hurt the most, ‘I want to f*** this person,'” she added.
Lydia continued: “That’s how boys talk, I’m like, ‘You’re married.’ We were doing couples’ therapy. At the time, I didn’t feel like the therapy was working. This is the same girl he’d written a love letter to, ripped apart and kept in a shoebox in our apartment.”
“My instinct has never failed me. This person reached out to him following our ceremony in Puerto Rico, I told him I looked through his phone as I had a gut instinct. I asked him why he wasn’t blocking her, it took him a year later to block her,” she added.
Reality Shrine has contacted Milton for comment.
Milton ‘wanted peace and respect’ from Lydia
Lydia claimed that, while there are “moments that he showed up for me,” Milton thought she “nagged and disrespected him all the time,” such as wearing swimsuits. “I feel there was a level of communication and support that was not there,” she said.
She added, “I don’t think he was ready to be a husband, which started showing around the six-month mark. I just started feeling like I was losing my spark, I remember him complaining about me cussing too much in front of his family. He’d scold me in front of everybody.”
“It was just things like that. He kept making me feel small. On my birthday last year, he was on his video game all day. It took it out of our quality time. We also had an argument on my birthday because I was in a bikini, so I stopped posting pics in swimsuits,” she said.
