Kim Kardashian claps back at claims she lied about the Paris robbery and she’s really mad
People said she faked the whole thing
Kim Kardashian is clapping back at claims she lied about the Paris robbery that allegedly happened in 2016. She was allegedly tied up and held at gunpoint by multiple masked men, who have been nicknamed Grandpa Gang, during Paris Fashion Week in October almost ten years ago, but a lot of people still don’t believe it happened.
Kim Kardashian claps back at claims she lied about Paris robbery
Kim spoke out against speculation that she lied about the robbery in Paris during her court case. She said, “It was really hard for me when people were saying that I made it up maybe for my TV show.” According to police, she was tied up and robbed at gunpoint by raiders who stole £8 million worth of jewellery, including her engagement ring from Kanye West.
She also said, “I wasn’t filming my TV show. It was really hurtful. That was something that really stung deeply.” She testified in court that she “thought she was going to die” and was “hysterical” over the robbery, fearing she was going to be “raped and killed” by the criminals. She allegedly had a gun held to her back by one of them, and was laid down on the hotel room bed.
The gang who robbed Kim’s jewellery were reportedly disguised as police officers, and as the case plays out in real time, she has forgiven the accused robber in court. Kim told a defendant, Aomar Ait Khedache, “I do appreciate the letter. I forgive you for what has taken place. But it doesn’t change the emotion and the feelings and the trauma and the fact that my life has forever changed.”
She’s suing a media outlet for portraying her as a ‘liar’
A US celebrity gossip media outlet who labelled Kim as a “liar and a thief” is being sued by her. The website claimed she had staged the armed robbery to cheat insurers out of millions. The defamation lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and was filed in New York against MediaTakeOut.com and its founder, Fred Mwangaguhunga, for reporting she faked the incident and then filed a fraudulent insurance claim.
Court papers said Kim had “returned to the United States only to again be victimised, but this time by an online gossip tabloid that published a series of articles in early October 2016 referring to her a liar and thief.” The lawsuit also wrote that the site “claimed, without any factual support whatsoever, that Kardashian faked the robbery and lied about the violent assault.”
It also stated she “then filed a fraudulent claim with her insurance company to bilk her carrier out of millions of dollars.” The stories were described as “painting the victim of a serious crime as a criminal herself” and were labelled as “libellous,” while the website refused to publish a retraction and an apology for the articles.
