Omg, the reality of what happened to Connor’s parents before Love on the Spectrum is so sad
'A family forged in fire'
As people get bingeing Love on the Spectrum season three, many are literally adoring seeing Connor, Tanner, and all the other cast members’ journeys play out. While Connor’s family unit is super positive and supportive, the Tomlinsons went through a whole lot before their Netflix stardom came along. The reality of what happened to Connor and his parents is actually heartbreaking.

What happened to Connor’s parents?
Love on the Spectrum focuses on Connor’s journey to finding love with Georgie. But, as we all get to know him and his family more, people are curious about what happened to his parents.
During the show, Connor and his mom talk about when she went on a first date with his stepdad, Tony. Connor says at the time he wanted his parents to get back together, but now he “knows better.”
Connor’s mom, Lise, and his biological father divorced when he was a young kid.
She explains how her youngest son, Jack, “wasn’t even two years old” at the time of the marriage breakdown during an interview on The Lift Lab Podcast.
Lise says she was a single mom of four for five years before she met Tony.
She explains: “Connor’s dad and I, I think autism puts a strain on a marriage, and it’s not anyone’s fault.”
“I found myself alone with these four children…” she adds.
Love on the Spectrum Connor’s mom shares his reality
Connor’s mom, Lise, has Love on the Spectrum viewers literally in awe of her parenting.
People are loving the Tomlinsons so much that they want them to get their own spin-off show, per lots of tweets on X.
But, Lise sheds light on how life hasn’t always been perfect for her family.
Speaking of her divorce, she adds: “I had this little boy who was used to his dad coming home every night, and he wasn’t coming home any more…”
“He was throwing up and sick every night because his routine’s broken…”
Lise explains how the situation “forged the five of them in fire,” adding: “We were in the fire, but guess what? We’re shining right now.”
She adds of her family: “We’re here to be ourselves. We have our YouTube channel, we’ll get into a spat… but we will have our moments then we work through them together.”
Connor’s mom keeps it real, continuing: “Our house isn’t all hearts and flowers, we fight, we have to apologize to each other.”
