The devastating way RHOBH’s Bozoma Saint John discovered her house had burned down
Bozoma Saint John’s home in Malibu sadly burned down in the Palisades fires. The RHOBH star found out in the most awful way while she was away in Zambia, saying she felt “helpless and devastating.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills introduced Bozoma Saint John to the cast not long ago. Sadly, the newbie’s home has burned down in the LA fires, after she bought the place four years ago.
Bozoma discovered her home burned down on socials
Bozoma Saint John discovered her home had burned down while scrolling through social media. She was away in Zambia at the time, and suddenly saw her house on X in a shock discovery.
She told WWHL she didn’t have time to get any of her belongings out and said: “So, it was devastating, and I felt so helpless. There was nothing I could do. You can’t send anybody to get anything.”
The RHOBH star tried to make her way back as quickly as possible. The home had represented 25 years of hard work that she done to buy it, with Bozoma saying it was a “home for her family and friends.”
She ‘felt helpless and devastated’
Bozoma, who bought the Malibu home four years ago, felt “helpless and devastated” after her house burned down. She said, “I try not to compare grief to anybody else’s or anything like that.”
She added, “But the hard thing is that it was more than just a house. I had a keypad on the house, not a keyhole, so people could just put in a code and go in whenever they want. And, so, we all lost a home.”
Bozoma built a movie theater inside the home to honor her sister “so she could see films in a sanctuary.” The peaceful home was right by the seafront, with wall quotes like, “You are the ocean in a drop.”
Bozoma’s daughter was also affected
Bozoma’s daughter, Lael, was affected by the fires, too. She is “doing alright and trying,” with Bozoma explaining, “She had a few friends who lost homes as well, so, there’s some community in that, too.”
When the recent RHOBH episode aired of a Malibu beach date, Bozoma wrote, “It was sweet because it captured the gorgeous Malibu beach date that @keelywatson__ planned for us.”
However, she added, “It was bitter because the night it aired, my Malibu home was burning along with so many houses on Pacific Coast Highway. Whew. The poetic irony is hard to face… but yet, I’m still grateful.”
