Chad Powers season two ends with Gerry’s plan falling apart, Russ and Ricky finally admitting their feelings, and a pretty worrying twist involving Tricia Yeager, so if you finished the finale and were left wondering what exactly happened, here’s the ending explained. So, who knows that Chad Powers is actually Russ Holliday? Credit: Hulu Danny has already told Tricia Yeager that Chad Powers is really Russ Holliday. He also asks the Catfish boosters for help keeping Russ’ identity secret. Tricia agrees to keep it a secret, but makes it clear that she has her own plan. And that brings us to the biggest cliffhanger in the finale. While Gerry is being carried away, Tricia’s security guard approaches Chad and says that Chad Powers has been acquired by Yeager Family Foods. Then he looks at him and says, “Mr. Holliday, your face.” Russ and Ricky immediately realise that the guard knows who Chad really is. More importantly, Tricia now has a reason to keep Russ close. She wants Russ and Danny to move onto her ranch so she can keep them “safe” and make sure Russ stays as Chad “for a long time.” So, basically, Tricia doesn’t want to expose Russ. She wants to keep Chad Powers around, although the finale doesn’t explain exactly why. What happens to Russ and Ricky? Credit: Hulu After the game, Ricky fixes Russ’ prosthetic. She is about to leave for her new coaching job in New York, and the two finally admit how they feel. Russ tells her that he loves her, and they kiss. But then things get complicated. Ricky starts taking off the rest of Russ’ prosthetic when Coach Hudson opens the locker room door. Russ quickly turns away and tries to hide the fact that part of his disguise is off. And that’s where the episode cuts to black. So, did Coach Hudson realise Chad is actually Russ? Credit: Hulu Hudson clearly sees Russ with part of his Chad Powers disguise out of place, but the finale never shows us his reaction or confirms whether he recognises Russ. He could have realised that Chad is hiding something, or he could have worked out the whole truth. The show deliberately leaves it unclear. So, no, Russ’ identity has not been publicly exposed by the end of season two. But Hudson may now be another person who knows the truth. And that, along with Tricia’s plans for Chad Powers, is what the finale leaves hanging for a possible season three. For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
