We only have one episode of Euphoria season three left to endure, thank God. If you can’t wait until Sunday (or the early hours of Monday, if you’re European) to see what will become of Rue, Cassie and the rest, then here’s some hints. Here’s a handy round-up of every jarring thing we know will happen in the Euphoria season three finale, based on older trailers and the cast’s announcements. Maddy and Cassie are so making up I hope it’s only Nate’s death that they are crying over(Image via HBO) In the preview for Euphoria season three episode eight, Maddy and Cassie seem to be sitting opposite each other and crying. Perhaps after Nate’s death, they trauma-bond and become friends again? It would be nice for viewers to get some closure on at least one storyline from earlier seasons… Where the hell is Elliot? I doubt many people missed Elliot, Rue’s guitar-playing friend, in season three. I’m afraid he will be back. HBO confirmed in October 2025 that Dominic Fike would return for season three. View this post on Instagram A post shared by euphoria (@euphoria) According to Variety, he filmed a few scenes in February 2025. Obviously, Elliot still hasn’t made an appearance. So, either a) his scenes were cut or b) Elliot will be in the finale. Perhaps we’ll all have to endure an hour-long song at somebody’s funeral? Rue returns to her old house Rue doesn’t look enthused to be there(Image via HBO) The new trailer seems to show Rue returning to her childhood home. She might not literally travel there, though – maybe this scene is a sort of memory/vision/afterlife. The actor who plays Rue’s mum Leslie, Nika King, has joked about how little screen time she has in season three. So if Rue does literally return home, her mother might not be there (or, she might already be dead). The police chase Rue Run, girl, run(Image via HBO) Early trailers for Euphoria season three showed Rue running through a residential area. We’re finally seeing this chase scene next week. Is this moment back in East Highland, near Rue’s childhood home? Are the police after her? Is this how Rue meets her end? Time will tell. …a cliffhanger ending? In the preview for the final episode, subtitles say “season finale”, not “series finale”. Although the main cast all sounded pretty done with the show in interviews, HBO haven’t confirmed whether or not season three is the absolute end of the show. Is there a chance Euphoria season three will end on an infuriating cliffhanger, in the hope that a fourth season or a spin-off can happen? Argh, I’m scared.
