Tom Hardy has allegedly been sacked from the MobLand TV show, as claims about him showing up late and being difficult to work with emerge. MobLand is a British crime drama that came out last year. Starring huge names like Pierce Brosnan, Paddy Considine, Helen Mirren, and Tom Hardy, the show is about a London crime family called The Harrigans. It quickly became Paramount’s most highly rated show. Tom Hardy was essentially the main character in season one, and filming for season two has just wrapped. Why was Tom Hardy sacked from MobLand? Credit: Paramount According to Matthew Belloni’s The Puck, Tom Hardy was especially difficult to work with in season two of MobLand. He showed up late to set numerous times, gave unsolicited notes on the script, and constantly changed dialogue. He allegedly complained that a show that was once about him is now “an ensemble showcase for Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and other co-stars.” He also allegedly clashed with producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser, so much so that Butterworth threatened to quit. “I’m told Paramount recently opted not to pick up Hardy for Season 3 after his clashes with producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser,” The Puck explained. (Reps for Hardy and Paramount declined to comment.)” People have since confessed that Tom Hardy was the biggest draw of the show, suggesting they won’t be tuning in for season three. “If he was a problem on set, I get it, but he was a major draw for the show, and this ends the excitement I had for the next season,” one person said. Another wrote: “Losing Tom Hardy would completely change the vibe of MobLand. He felt like the heart of the series for a lot of viewers “Sorry, this show is gonna be dead now. He’s basically the best character in the show,” someone else echoed. Season three is already in the works Credit: Paramount Despite the scandal now emerging, sources earlier confirmed that season three is already in the early stages of production. “Thankfully, the quality of the show and the ratings have convinced bosses that the drama is worth committing to. It is top-level production and directed by Guy Ritchie and has been well received by critics and, generally, by the viewers,” a TV insider told The Sun. “But initially all the talk was about the accents and Pierce in particular.” What the show will look like without Tom Hardy is unknown.
