People weren’t impressed, with one person commenting: “I find it to be a little disrespectful towards the old man just trying to do his job.” Others were more forgiving, suggesting he might have just been overwhelmed while balancing fan demands and festival rules. Following the screening of the film, Elordi was left “visibly emotional” during a 13-minute standing ovation, the longest of the festival so far. He was filmed wiping away tears and embracing co-star Mia Goth and director Guillermo del Toro, before bowing to the audience.
