The time has come. Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is back on Netflix for season 2, introducing a brand new cast of characters to the streets of Night City. The first season of the anime series ended with David’s tragic death. But rather than continuing this story, the creators have been clear from the start that they want to continue telling standalone stories set within the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Equally, the Netflix show isn’t a direct adaptation of the game. As such, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 brings together a whole host of new characters, as well as voice actors who portray them. That said, there’s plenty of inspiration from the games, as well as a very familiar face. So, here’s who’s who in season 2… Weak Kingsley – Kentaro Tone (Japanese), Clancy Brown (English) Credit: Netflix Weak Kingsley is a former legendary edgerunner who was once known as ‘King’ on the streets of Night City. However, after losing his chrome, he’s now struggling to find his place in a world that’s moved on without him. Although Weak is a new character in the Cyberpunk universe, there’s an interesting connection to the first season. Showrunner Bartosz Sztybor previously told GamesRadar+ that his story was partly inspired by the question of what might have happened to David Martinez if he’d survived. “In Edgerunners season 1, it’s zero to hero. In Edgerunners season 2, it’s hero to zero,” he said. “Those were the core ideas for season 2. To connect that with the aftermath of season 1 was also an important thought.” In its original Japanese, Weak is portrayed by voice actor Kentaro Tone, who has a whole range of credits to his name, including Naruto: Shippuden, Bakuman, Danchi Tomoo, This Art Club Has a Problem! and Ingress. For the English dub, Clancy Brown takes on the role. You may recognise him from The Shawshank Redemption, John Wick: Chapter 4, Billions or The Penguin. Or you may recognise his voice, having portrayed none other than Mr. Krabs on SpongeBob SquarePants since its premiere. D – Koki Uchiyama (Japanese), Nazeeh Tarsha (English) Credit: Netflix D is a skilled netrunner and member of the Snake Nation, a group of nomads who live outside Night City’s conventional society. Driven by revenge, he arrives in the city on a mission to track down the person responsible for wiping out his clan. Although D is a new character in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, his background has a connection to the wider game’s lore. The Snake Nation is one of the largest nomad groups in the Cyberpunk universe and is referenced in Cyberpunk 2077. D is voiced in Japanese by Koki Uchiyama, whose extensive anime credits include My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, Haikyu!! and Hunter x Hunter. He’s also known for voicing Roxas and Ventus in the Kingdom Hearts video games. Meanwhile, Nazeeh Tarsha provides D’s voice in the English dub. Video game fans may recognise him as Alhaitham in Genshin Impact, while his anime voice work includes a range of English-language dubbing roles in shows such as One Piece and Attack on Titan. Roman Carax – Momoka Terasawa (Japanese), Valeria Rodriguez (English) Credit: Netflix Roman Carax is a young film lover who dreams of capturing the real stories of Night City. This makes him unique given that here, traditional cinema has largely been replaced by braindance technology. While Roman doesn’t have an established connection to the characters from season 1 or Cyberpunk 2077, his story draws heavily from the game’s world. Plus, showrunner Sztybor previously told GamesRadar+ that Roman reflects the approach of season 2 director Kai Ikarashi, who explored locations within the video game to find inspiration for the anime’s setting. In the original Japanese version, Roman is voiced by Momoka Terasawa, whose anime credits include Too Many Losing Heroines!, The Yuzuki Family’s Four Sons, and Sound! Euphonium. Meanwhile, Valeria Rodriguez provides Roman’s voice in the English dub. Their previous credits include Netflix’s Ranma ½, Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, Monster High and Pluto. Talia Yang – Akari Kitō (Japanese), Kimoy Lee (English) Credit: Netflix Although she grew up surrounded by wealth and privilege in Night City’s corporate world, Talia Yang has since become involved with the Maelstrom gang. Fiercely independent, she’s embraced the group’s obsession with cybernetic enhancements and its brutal way of life. Unlike Talia herself, Maelstrom will be familiar to anyone who’s played Cyberpunk 2077. The gang appears throughout the game, including during an early mission involving a stolen military robot, in which players encounter its leader, Royce. There’s also a more personal connection within season 2. Talia is the daughter of Avida, a former jazz singer and corporate insider who once had a relationship with Weak Kingsley. Her father, Kiril, is a powerful executive at Kang Tao, another corporation that features in Cyberpunk 2077. Talia is voiced in Japanese by Akari Kitō, who anime fans will almost certainly recognise as Nezuko Kamado in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She’s also taken roles in Classroom of the Elite, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun and Fly Me to the Moon. For the English dub, Kimoy Lee takes on the role. Her previous voice acting credits include Witch Watch, Rooster Fighter and Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi. Video game fans may also recognise her as Candy Apple Cookie in Cookie Run: Kingdom. Bonus: Hideyoshi Oshima – Hideo Kojima One familiar face returning to Night City is Hideyoshi Oshima, a Japanese braindance director who previously appeared in Cyberpunk 2077. Spotting a familiar face, chooms? 👀 You may remember seeing him in Konpeki Plaza during The Heist in 2077. Now, the renowned braindance director is making another appearance in Night City.@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN returns as Hideyoshi Oshima in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2! pic.twitter.com/2Mt0RBapqw — Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (@edgerunners) October 19, 2026 Players may remember spotting him at Konpeki Plaza during an early mission called The Heist. Now, he’s making a brief cameo in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, providing another direct connection between the Netflix anime and the video game. Oshima is based on the legendary game developer Hideo Kojima, best known for creating the Metal Gear franchise and Death Stranding. Now he’s back to voice the character, making his return a particularly fun Easter egg for fans of the games. For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
