American Horror Story has been around for ages, but with the 13th and final season now here, cast members like Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson got paid chunky amounts. So let’s break it down before Ryan Murphy decides he’s not stopping at 13.

Just take the estimated figures with a grain (a mountain) of salt.

Joey Pollari is basically the main character this season

Despite having the most screen time in American Horror Story 13, Joey Pollari is earning a measly amount compared to the other stars. It makes sense, though, because this is technically his first time in AHS. He’s been in two seasons of Ryan Murphy’s Monster, but that doesn’t count.

According to Curiously, which shared figures being published across the internet, he made $150k from the final season.

Leslie Grossman got paid $250k

Leslie Grossman has been in a number of American Horror Story seasons, first popping up in Cult as Meadow Wilton. She later appeared again in Apocalypse as Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt, 1984 as Margaret Booth, Red Tide as Ursula Khan, Death Valley as Calico, NYC as Barbara, and Delicate as Ashleigh.

The figure for her pay circling about the internet is $250k.

Billie Lourd is a major player this season

It’s very clear that Ryan Murphy was trying to make Billie Lourd the new Sarah Paulson, but I won’t comment on the success of that. Over 13 seasons, she’s played Winter Anderson in Cult, Mallory in Apocalypse, Montana Duke in 1984, Lark in Red Tide, and Hannah in NYC.

She’s earned $300k from this season, apparently.

AHS wouldn’t be the same without Gabourey Sidibe

It’s hard to think about AHS and not think of Gabourey Sidibe, but she’s actually only played one character: Queenie. She first popped up in Coven, but then reprised the role in Hotel, Apocalypse, and now 13.

She’s earning somewhere in the $325k ballpark.

Kathy Bates was underpaid, just saying

From Madame Delphine LaLaurie in Coven to Iris in Hotel, Kathy Bates insane talent has made American Horror Story what it is.

Despite that, she only got $400k for season 13. It’s still a lot of money, but she deserves more.

Emma Roberts got more than Kathy Bates…

Emma Roberts has paid five people across the American Horror Story universe, so she got $450k for season 13.

I’m not saying she doesn’t deserve the pay cheque, but Kathy Bates is an Oscar winner…

Angela Bassett is rolling in it

On the Mount Rushmore of American Horror Story, Angela Bassett is definitely front and centre. She’s played Marie Laveau in Coven, Desiree Dupree in Freak Show, Ramona Royale in Hotel, and Monet Tumusiime in Roanoke. Marie is definitely her most popular role, reprising it twice in Apocalypse and 13.

Naturally, she raked in around $600k for her final season.

Sarah Paulson got slightly more

Again, when you think about American Horror Story, you think of Sarah Paulson. It arguably made her as popular as she is today, and that’s thanks to iconic roles such as Lana Winters, Cordelia Goode, and Ally Mayfair-Richards.

It’s nowhere near enough, but she got $750k.

Evan Peters’ pay makes me think these stats are bogus

Most of these figures are somewhat reasonable (apart from Kathy Bates), but Evan Peters’ reported salary from AHS 13 is straight-up insane. He’s said to have earned $850k, a full $100k more than Sarah Paulson.

Don’t get me wrong, I get it; he has played major roles like Tate Langdon, Kit Walker, and James Patrick March.

Jessica Lange got paid the most for American Horror Story, obvs

Though she made American Horror Story what it is with characters like Sister Jude Martin and Fiona Goode, Jessica Lange hasn’t been in American Horror Story since Freak Show in 2013.

Ryan Murphy just had to get her back, and that came with a $1 million price tag.
