Silo’s season three finale was packed full of huge reveals, but one mystery left for season four to answer is what became of Helen and Daniel’s baby after they were separated. And star Ashley Zukerman has given a hint about a truly intriguing theory. If you remember, in season three episode nine of the Apple TV series during the Before Times, journalist Helen (Jessica Henwick) and Congressman Daniel (Ashley Zukerman) were separated during the Silo Project opening. By the time Daniel realised something was up, it was too late. A nuclear bombing in the outside world meant Helen, who was pregnant with their child, ended up in Silo 18, while Daniel was put in Silo 1. The season three finale jumped forward centuries, when Daniel is no longer the man he once was. He’s now called Troy and has been repeatedly put into cryogenic sleep while having his memories suppressed. Although flashes of Helen break through, he doesn’t remember who she is (Victor ends up telling him posthumously) and, for the most part, his humanity is gone. This is evidenced by one of Silo’s most disturbing scenes, when Troy orders the extermination of the Silo 17 rebels. As for Helen, we don’t find out what became of her, nor do we learn what happened to their unborn child. But that’s all set to change with season four. There could be a huge connection between Helen, Daniel (aka Troy) and Juliette Credit: Apple TV Here’s the thing: Helen and Daniel don’t have a baby in the books, so in the meantime, fans have been left to speculate. And a leading theory is that Helen did end up giving birth in Silo 18, and Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) is a direct descendant of their child. There are a couple of clues supporting this theory. Firstly, there’s the fact that Juliette was also born and raised in Silo 18. There’s also the mystery of the duck PEZ dispenser, which Daniel gave to Helen before the attack and it somehow ends up in Silo 18 hundreds of years later. TVShowsFinder put this theory to Daniel star Ashley Zukerman, and given Silo season four has already been filmed, he certainly couldn’t give anything away. Although he did say with a chuckle, “Pretty good theory.” Zukerman offered another little tease, noting that if Helen did make it safely into Silo 18 and the show is now around 300 years later in the story, then “Helen is probably in that silo in many different ways.” Credit: Apple TV “Might not just be a genetic connection,” he added. That last comment is particularly intriguing. Zukerman appears to be hinting that whether Helen does have descendants living in Silo 18 or not, her connection to Juliette’s home could go beyond her bloodline. Or, you never know, maybe the interviewer was getting dangerously close to the truth and Zukerman’s throwing us off the scent. Whatever the case, season four will be the last chapter, and showrunner Graham Yost has confirmed we’ll find out what happened to Helen. Speaking to Radio Times, he explained, “A year from now, you’ll see season four, and there is a lot of cruelty at the heart of this thing. Seeing Daniel and Helen being separated during a nuclear explosion… We pay that off in season 4. You will find out what happened to Helen.” And that means we’ll also find out what happened to their unborn child. The good news is that there isn’t too long to wait. Following the release of the season three finale, Apple TV shared a season four sneak peek, which confirmed its premiere date: July 9 2027. Get it in the diary, folks.
