Gal Gadot has revealed the real reason she wouldn’t do another Wonder Woman film and called out how Henry Cavill and Patty Jenkins were treated. The actress first played Diana Prince in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She went on to lead Wonder Woman in 2017 and returned for Justice League and Wonder Woman 1984. A third Wonder Woman film was actually in development with director Patty Jenkins. But the project was ultimately dropped after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios. Gunn and Safran have plans for a new DC Universe. Now, Gadot has spoken out about what happened. And she also mentioned how DC handled Henry Cavill and Jenkins. ‘The Henry situation was not handled elegantly’ Credit: Warner Bros. Speaking about the changes at DC Studios, Gadot told the Happy Sad Confused podcast, “I saw the way everybody else was handled. The Henry [Cavill] situation was not handled elegantly to say the least. Patty [Jenkins] was not handled elegantly. We’re all adults and we’re all good.” Cavill had played Superman in the previous DC Universe before Gunn and Safran took over DC Studios. Jenkins, meanwhile, had directed both Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 and had been working on a third film. But despite everything, Gadot said, “I am so grateful I got the opportunity to wear these boots and have the character be so celebrated. I can only wish whoever is next comes pure to this journey.” She added, “This character means so much to so many of us. It was never mine. I was always just a vessel. This is Hollywood.” Gadot has also explained why she won’t return for another Wonder Woman film. “For me to go to do another Wonder Woman, I am not sure I would at this point in my life with four children and different schools and all of that,” Gadot said. “To check out from all of them for such a long period of time, it doesn’t work for my life anymore at this point.” For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
