Just one more sleep until The Odyssey lands in cinemas, unless you nabbed tickets for an early preview. Given it’s got a Christopher Nolan runtime, you’ll no doubt want to know whether to stick around for any post-credits surprises. Nolan has done the unthinkable by adapting Homer’s 3000-year-old, sprawling epic for a modern audience, and judging by the reviews, it’s going to be nothing short of a masterpiece. With a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score, critics are calling The Odyssey everything from a “masterpiece” to Nolan’s best film yet, with particular praise for its stacked cast, jaw-dropping IMAX cinematography and enormous practical set pieces (a Nolan trademark). In short, there’s a lot to be excited about, and you’re going to want to watch it on the biggest screen possible. But should you stick around once it ends? The Odyssey end-credits has a surprise song you won’t want to miss As expected, The Odyssey doesn’t have a mid- or post-credits scene. This shouldn’t be that surprising if you’re a fan of Nolan’s filmography. However, Travis Scott – who also stars in the film – has created an original song that plays over the credits. If that doesn’t float your boat, you should still stick around, as the track was made in collaboration with English singer-songwriter James Blake, and produced by The Odyssey’s score composer Ludwig Göransson. And if that weren’t enough, Nolan himself is credited as co-lyricist, marking the first time he’s received this kind of credit for a film he’s made. The track itself is titled ‘When I’m Home’ and, for now, the only way to hear it is at the end of the movie when it plays over the credits. Why there’s no post-credits scene Even though he ventured into the superhero genre with his Dark Knight trilogy, Nolan has never been a huge fan of post-credits scenes, a trend popularised by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As per the Guardian, Nolan previously spoke to fellow DC filmmaker Zack Snyder about the subject, saying, “We shouldn’t be chasing other movies, but stay true to the tone of Man of Steel.” Unless Nolan changes his entire ethos overnight, The Odyssey won’t be getting a sequel, which makes the lack of post-credits scene even less surprising. Why leaked The Odyssey end credits are sparking confusion The Odyssey end credits leaked on X and have since been deleted. One of the reasons it caused a stir is because Travis Scott – who is playing a bard in the film – is reportedly first on the cast list. As said by one X user, “Travis Scott being the first actor listed in The Odyssey credits kinda sent me.” However, it’s since been highlighted that the cast are listed in the order that they appear in, and since Scott is first, he’s first on the list.
