The newest trailer for the Minecraft movie has only been out for less than 24 hours but someone has already decoded the mysterious glowing blue cube and worked out what it actually means.

In case you haven’t watched the new trailer yet, or need a refresher the glowing blue cube is found by Steve, played by Jack Black, and it seems to magically transport him into the world of Minecraft.

If you look closely while watching the Minecraft movie trailer you’ll spot the blue cube actually has mysterious writing on it but it has now been decoded!

The cube was translated by Redditor tokaygecko23 who revealed their discovery on the official Minecraft subreddit.

They used the standard galactic alphabet to decode the cube, and through that managed to work out each letter the symbols stood for. Whilst they did work out what the symbols represented, it still didn’t make any sense as words but other Redditors worked out that when read in a spiral pattern it becomes a message.

As for what that message reads it contains the following: “Iron, Gold, Stone, Gate, Head, Home.”

Okay, that’s all well and good but what exactly does that even mean? Well, everyone is still trying to work it out but the most popular theory is it’s a list of instructions for Steve to follow. Iron, gold and stone could be materials to build a gate.

Then head either meaning for him to quite literally head home through a portal, or that he could need the head of a mob boss in order to activate the portal.

So far it’s all speculation but as more trailers come out we might get drip fed more hints about what it all means!
