Game-changing Marvel easter eggs in Thunderbolts* you should really pay attention to
I will need 3-5 working days to recover from those post-credit scenes
The new Marvel movie Thunderbolts* has dropped, and gals, it’s actually good. What a shock. The film was stuffed full of easter eggs, especially during those dramatic post-credit scenes. Here are all the easter eggs in the new Marvel move Thunderbolts* which you really, really ought to look out for.
‘Superhuman rage monster’
Val mentions that the last president turned into a “giant red superhuman rage monster”.
This moment only makes sense if you saw Captain America: Brave New World. And let’s be real, how many people bothered? In that movie, Harrison Ford plays a president who turns into a big red Hulk monster. There, I’ve saved you from watching it.
Does Mel’s necklace hint she’s a really important character from the comics?
A lot of Marvel fans think so. In the comics, the Thunderbolts crew includes Melissa Gold, who has the silly superhero name Songbird. In this movie, Val has an assistant called Mel. If you look really closely, you can see she wears a gold bird necklace. Maybe she’ll be revealed as Melissa Gold in a later movie, and join the team? Or maybe Marvel filmmakers just like to mess with us?
The gala is stuffed with easter eggs to the OG Avengers movie

Spot the sceptre

Val hosts an Avengers-themes gala. You can have a lot of fun attempting to spot all the memorabilia from the battle of New York (aka the big finale of the The Avengers). Loki’s sceptre, Chitauri weapons and the iconic big letter A from Avengers Tower are all on display.
Aw, the Avengers’ bar is there
Most Read
In Thunderbolts*, Val has done a lot of home renovation and has switched up most of the Avengers Tower building. But she kept the bar where Tony Stark once offered Loki a drink, and that party in Avengers: Age of Ultron went down.
The soundtrack sneakily hints at these characters’ future
Near the end of the movie, Val announces that the Thunderbolts are now the New Avengers (without bothering to check with the existing Avengers, or read the Reddit threads that explain this is actually a totally different group of superheroes in the comics, or anything like that). The iconic main theme from The Avengers plays. Does the music hint that these characters will join up with the pre-existing Avengers? (Probably).
Finally, a Fantastic Four cameo!
Naturally, the most interesting easter eggs in Thunderbolts* are after the film is over. In a post-credits scene, we see a starship that has popped up from another dimension. The ship has the Fantastic Four log on, which is extremely exciting if you’re a nerd who has been waiting for a MCU Fantastic Four movie for like, 17 years. This moment teases the Fantastic Four: First Steps film which comes out in July. The ship’s appearance might also be setting up Avengers: Doomsday, which we know the Fantastic Four and the Thunderbolts / New Avengers / Florence Pugh’s crew / whoever will appear in.
