Streamer Valkyrae claims she got cut from Minecraft film after calling out Jason Momoa on set
She says his behaviour was ‘the worst celebrity thing’ she’s ever seen
A Minecraft Movie has been smashing revenue, but has bombed with critics. The film stars Jack Black and Jason Momoa, with the latter coming under fire after streamer Valkyrae claims she got ‘cut’ from the Minecraft film after calling out his behaviour on the set of the film.
In A Minecraft Movie, there is a scene in which several famous IRL video game streamers have cameos in the film. These include the likes of Daniel DTM, Aphmau, Mumbo Jumbo and LDShadowLady. Set to join them was Valkyrae, who is claiming now her scenes got cut from A Minecraft Movie after several comments she made about Jason Momoa on one of her live streams last year.
According to NME, during an appearance on JasonThe Ween’s YouTube channel, Valkyrae was asked about celebrity interactions and who she’d worked with that she didn’t get along with. Valkyrae said “How do I say this… I have a cameo in A Minecraft Movie and I would have to say Jason Momoa. I saw him mistreat some of the crew, it was pretty disappointing. It was after an intense, emotional scene so maybe he was still in character but I was surprised by how he treated some of the crew. He was just really mad at them and yelling. This is not a good work environment. That’s the worst celebrity thing I’ve seen.”
Valkyrae then further addressed her claim on her own stream. She stated: “I would much rather not have that 30 second [cameo] than be sued. It really could have been so much worse.

“Let’s just say, I’m not going to touch too much on it. As much as you guys saw the other creators that were in it, that would have been the equal amount you would have seen me. It’s 30 seconds, so it’s OK. It really was a wonderful 10 days in New Zealand for that 30 seconds.”
“I thought it was good. I was surprised some people didn’t like it. I think you guys are trolling to make me feel better but it’s a cute Minecraft movie.”
