TikTok’s ‘Defying Gravity’ challenge is as hilarious as it is ear-destroying – here are the worst

People on TikTok are currently exposing their lack of singing ability by taking part in the Defying Gravity challenge, a singing competition that sees people attempt perhaps the hardest song in Wicked.

After a great reception and Wicked Letterboxd reviews that make you wish you never met the internet, we are now entering that period after a film where viewers go stir crazy with theories, hidden details, and long-form YouTube video essays. We still have quite a while to wait for Part Two, so it will only get worse.

Defying Gravity is widely considered one of the hardest songs in the world of musicals, and though Cynthia Erivo easily belted the iconic tune, TikTok is taking a different route.
