What happened at the Green Leafe Café last night?

‘And they just started taking the taps off the walls, so I took one…’

Last night was a special night for the local bar The Green Leaf. Now shutdown for a month of renovations and the installation of new management, the seemingly harmless Wednesday night was supposed to be the last hurrah for patrons of Green Leaf, especially the William & Mary senior class.

A senior class mug night, like many others, brought a large college crowd to the bar. However, as reports tell, it was evident from the beginning of the evening that the tone was different.

At about 11:30pm the mood shifted from burgeoning on revolt to full on upheaval. From pictures and first hand reports, things got out of hand fast. The restaurant began to be dismantled by the patrons and they left no prisoners.

Tap handles were taken from the bar, cups and chairs were thrown. One patrons is quoted as saying “And they just started taking the taps off the walls, so I took one…”

It seems that the atmosphere was one of “no regrets.”

As of now, there is no report of any police reports being filed and no one was arrested, though the police were called.

Currently, the restaurant is lights off and locked up tight. A true Tribe send off to the traditional W&M bar.
