Tech ranked among top 20 best value colleges in America

It’s official – according to TIME, VT is one of the best places on earth

We already knew Tech is one of the best schools in the country, if not THE best. TIME just ranked Virginia Tech as the 18th best college that delivers the most value. In other words, it’s the 18th best “bang for your buck.” VT also ranked as the 9th best public college and they gave us some (rightful) praise.

“Virginia Tech is a leader in using technology to teach – and have fun,” the magazine wrote.

Well that’s certainly true!  Inventing solar tables and designing robots that can dance Gangnam style definitely deserves a top 20 spot!

They was also kind enough to name-drop Professor Boyer and mention our high graduation rate of 83 percent. What freshman doesn’t like World Regions class where global leaders call in on Skype?  And having one of the best graduation rates in the nation?  Yeah, I think that’s worth sharing.

The magazine was also sure to write about our beloved HokieBird and how much we love game day!  Finally, someone remembered to point out how much fun we have while we’re here!

“Tech fields 22 Division I teams, all cheered on by a mascot called HokieBird, a kind of mythical, muscled-up turkey.”

…Yeah that’s probably how I would describe it to a non-Hokie.

The magazine also made sure everyone was mentioned, from the Corps of Cadets to the students in Pamplin.  It’s nice to see that the non-engineering students and faculty get a shout-out every now and then!

We appreciate that someone finally put VT in the spot they deserve!  Take notes, Forbes.
