Drake, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Schoolboy Q, Big Sean – the list goes on. Hoops Mania is huge. So huge that people who weren’t ticketed are buying them for even upwards of $250.
There’s so much buzz going around that the performer could be Wiz Khalifa, but then there’s also an inside scoop that it could be Meek Mill. Hear what some of Villanova’s finest students have to say about this year’s performer at Hoops Mania.
Matt Plucienik, Senior
Senior, Matt Plucienik, spoke about how he used to be able to come to Hoops Mania when he was younger. He was #blessed to see Drake in 2011 and #moreblessed to see 50 cent earlier back. Matt shockingly spoke about how this event was not always as popular as it is today.

“I’ve heard it’s Wiz but I would love Chance the Rapper to be there, and if not, Gucci Mane. Gucci Mane would be tight. I would be furious if it were though because I don’t have a ticket. I’d fight security to get in.”
“Yeah, Wiz Khalifa or Meek Mill. I would also love to see Chance the Rapper but he’s already performing elsewhere this week.”

“Well, I heard a rumor today that it’s Meek Mill. Some worker in the exchange actually told my friend, who told me. I want it to be Wiz Khalifa though. There’s the Powerhouse tomorrow in Philly so people think it’ll be one of those performers.”

“Wiz Khalifa because that’s what I’ve heard. I love Wiz but I won’t be at Hoops Mania because I don’t have a ticket. But I’m not too unhappy about it since I feel like there’s better situations/environments to see him in.”

“I heard Wiz Khalifa and I think that would be possible. He’s not that relevant so he won’t be that expensive but he’s still relevant enough that people will care he’s there and know his songs.”

“I have a case competition so if my group finishes it, we’re going- which we will because we’re awesome. I heard it’s Wiz Khalifa but also I’m hoping it’s not. I went to his concert in high school and I didn’t enjoy it.”
