Classes to pick this semester if you want an easy few credits

In case you need a GPA boost

With Spring registration beginning this week, we know that you all will be looking for that “easy” A. While the term “easy” is not that common at UVA, we asked several students to tell us what their easiest class was at UVA and to provide any extra information about the class if possible. You’re welcome!

  1. SOC-2230 Criminology

Don’t expect it to be as juicy as a crime TV show, but the material is still interesting and good lecture notes are all that’s needed to do well on the exams.

  1. ENCW 2530-Intro to Poetry Writing

This class is very easy, but it incorporates a ton of different perspectives.

  2. RELB 2054

    Tibetan Buddhism Introduction

  3. ASTR 1210 with Aaron Evans

Introduction to the Sky and Solar System- He even gives you study guides for the tests. Not that I’m suggesting this, but a source told me that she never even opened the text book…

  4. ANTH-1010 Intro to Anthropology

Your grade is composed of a take home, open book midterm and final.

  5. EDLF 3420-Athletics in the University

There are 4 in class multiple choice tests plus one group project. You don’t have to study a lot for the test, but definitely look over the notes beforehand!

  6. EDHS 2240- Substance Abuse

This is the absolute EASIEST and most interesting class I’ve taken at UVA. Your grade is composed of two papers and two take home tests, but trust me, if you make an effort, you will get an A.

The essays are all extremely easily graded just make sure you can sit through the two hour lecture.

  7. SLAV 2360-Dracula

This class knocks out your second writing requirement and Non-Western Perspectives requirement. Your grade is composed of a midterm and final with around 20 ID questions, and one ten page paper that you turn in half way through the semester, receive corrections on the paper and then you turn it in again with the final. The class is extremely interesting, and you won’t have to study very much for either test if you don’t skip class.

  8. SOC 2220- Social Problems

This class wasn’t hard at all and it also introduced me to a lot of societal issues that I didn’t know about before coming to college.

  9. COMM 1800- Making Business Work

It’s a requirement for all of you Pre-Comm kids, but attending class isn’t necessary, and the tests are really straightforward if you use the study guide. Most of the exam questions are straight from the sample questions for homework so as long as you memorize those you’re fine.
