‘I’ve nearly done every one of the 116 things to do before you graduate’

She’s only 11 away

From streaking the lawn to singing the Good Ol’ Song, UVA is ripe in longstanding traditions. There are a select few students that attempt to check off all of the things on the infamous list of things to do before you graduate. Jodie Benjamin is one of these brave souls.

For her, “There is the obsession aspect of finishing to do lists, but also the desire to fully experience Charlottesville and the UVA community,” she says.

To this day she has 16 things left before graduation, five of which you cannot do until the day of, but she has made some personal edits, too.

Corks and Curls…get it?

As someone who is almost done she says the worst things on the list are, “Chase a squirrel, all the ones that cost money, and the all-nighter at Clem.”

For those who cannot complete the entire list, she recommends the following as priorities: Paint Beta Bridge, try slacklining on grounds, attend a concert downtown, Hug Ms. Kathy, and pick apples at Carter’s Mountain.

The biggest thing left is to do is high-five Dean Groves.

Some of the things she would have liked to see on the list include: “break into the football stadium and visit Observatory Hill.”

To her, the list is all about living local and in the moment, and to do these things with the people you enjoy being around.
