Judge rules that ‘Jackie’ must testify in court
The transcripts will be sealed
The student known only as ‘Jackie’, who was at the center of the Rolling Stone piece ‘A Rape on Campus’, must testify under oath in the lawsuit filed by Nicole Eramo.
She has yet to speak about the event in public. However, the police have found no evidence of the type of attack Jackie details. The Columbia School of Journalism discredited the article as a whole, and Rolling Stone issued a retraction.
Originally, Jackie’s lawyers tried to exclude her from the case by arguing that having her testify would be too traumatic.
The testimony will remain private, at least for now. The judge has ruled that while she must testify, all records and transcripts will be sealed.
