Jesse Matthew expected to plead guilty to Graham and Harrington murders

He’s expected in court on Wednesday

Jesse Matthew is expected to enter into a plea agreement for the murders of Hannah Graham and Morgan Harrington.

Matthew is due in court on Wednesday at 1:30pm. If the case went to trial, the prosecutors have said they would pursue the death penalty.

He has already been sentenced to three life sentences for the 2005 sexual assault of a 26-year-old woman in Fairfax.

Morgan Harrington’s mom says that while “both our daughters are still dead” the “winner is the community and maybe that’s what the abstract of justice means.”

Since Matthew faces the death penalty, and already will spend life in prison, it is to his benefit to plead guilty.
