VOTE: What option will you choose for the proposed Honor referenda?

Do you want to change the system, or keep the status quo?

As a part of the 2016 general elections, three referenda proposals have been included.

As of today, February 19th, through February 25th, you canĀ cast your vote at uvavote.com for whether you’d like to change the Honor System (Option 2) or maintain the single sanction system (Option 1).

Option 1

“The Honor Committee shall, with the exception of the Conscientious Retraction and Informed Retraction, exclude permanently from student status University students found to have committed Honor violations.”

This option maintains the single sanction policy – if a student is found guilty of committing an honor violation, they are removed from the University.

Option 2

“The Honor Committee shall have the power to exclude permanently from student status or impose lesser sanctions to University students found to have committed Honor violations.”

This option does not remove the optionĀ for expulsion of a student if they are found guilty, but it also allows for a variety of punishments based on the severity of the violation.
