What it’s like to travel back to UVA as an out of state student

What do you mean I have to be in the airport at 4am?

Whenever it’s time to head back to Charlottesville, the same problems always present themselves.

Even if you’re not as far away from Virginia as California, these things have definitely gone through your head if you’re from out of state.

I can bring part of my family back with me, right?

Wait, you mean I have to leave them behind?

Why do people complain about their families visiting so much? I’d like some home cooking, please. Can I put my mom in my suitcase?

Must. Pack. EVERYTHING.

I can’t bring big things from home so I guess I’ll literally have to have everything shipped. And if I forget a sweater, I won’t be able to get it for another 10 days while my mom puts it into a box.

When people complain about having to drive two whole hours back to school…

Meanwhile…

After over 13 hours of travel, flight delays, buses and Ubers…

Why do I live in airports?

Hello, Hi Mr. Uber, please pick me up before I am kidnapped.

It IS SO. COLD. Let’s just turn this plane back around to where it’s sunny and 75.

And if I could also book a private jet to just fly me back home for the weekend that’d be great. No charge, of course.

I only know like one person from my area in this state. SOS. Hi. Please be my friend.

I MISS MY FRIENDS

What do you mean you can’t fly six hours to come visit?

But despite it all, UVA is completely worth it
