Professor who falsely reported active shooter situation identified as Amy Granados

She is undergoing a mental health examination

The LAPD arrested a female professor with brown hair outside of Fertitta Hall on yesterday after she falsely reported an active shooter in the building.

Following an afternoon of chaos and confusion, her students and the Daily Trojan have identified the professor as Amy Granados. Granados is an adjunct professor of communication management and was instructing BUAD 304: Organizational Behavior and Leadership when she had an "episode," as per the LAPD.

The episode, rumored to have been connected to the deadliest mass shooting in Las Vegas that happened the night before, caused the campus to go into lockdown and students to find shelter for about an hour.

According to the Washington Post, the professor is undergoing mental examination.

An LAPD spokesperson told The Tab that the investigation was ongoing.
