Juju Smith-Schuster will forgo final year at USC for NFL draft

The famed USC wide receiver announced on Twitter

In a letter posted to his nearly 30,000 followers on Twitter, wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster announced that he will not be returning to USC for a final season, instead opting to enter the 2017 NFL Draft. Smith-Schuster, whose prowess was integral to Trojan football’s return to the Rose Bowl for the first time in eight years, is favored to be a first-round selection.

Smith-Schuster has teased the prospect of returning over the past month on Twitter. He has also insinuated that his decision would be partially contingent on teammate Adoree’ Jackson’s decision of whether or not to go pro or return to USC.

The Thorpe award-winning Jackson has yet to announce his decision, though given his ankle injury at the end of the Rose Bowl and Smith-Schuster’s announcement, the odds for a final, Heisman-bidding year for Jackson seem slimmer than they have ever been.
