BREAKING: Former QB Max Browne transferring to Pitt

Browne’s decision comes less than three weeks before the Rose Bowl

Less than a month before the USC Trojans head to the Rose Bowl for the first time in eight years, former head quarterback Max Browne has announced his transfer to University of Pittsburgh.

Browne’s decision comes at the heels of an open letter on Instagram announcing his intent to try his chances as head QB elsewhere.

After beginning the season as head coach Clay Helton’s choice as head quarterback, Browne was replaced with redshirt freshman Sam Darnold. Browne, who is technically an MBA candidate at the USC Marshall School of Business, wrote on Instagram two weeks ago:

“I walk away from USC falling short of many of my goals, but I also walk away with a full heart, lifelong relationships, and memories that will last a lifetime. I will certainly have an assortment of feelings when I look back at my 4 years here at SC, but I will always remember the unbelievable people I encountered along my path as a Trojan.”
