USC is the top choice college in California for international students

Who wouldn’t want to be a Trojan?

According to the Los Angeles Times, more than 1 million international students came to the United States to study last year, and more chose to study in California than in any other state (149.3 thousand as compared to the next-highest state, New York, with 114.3 thousand)

Four of the top twenty host schools in the US are found in California with USC topping the list.

USC hosted the highest number of international students out of all universities in California last year with 13,340 enrolled, and the second highest number internationally (coming in just behind NYU with 15,543 foreign students): UCLA came in second to USC (and 7th overall) with 11,513 foreign students, and three other UC-campuses – San Diego, Berkley, and Irvine – were high up on the list as well.

The number of foreign students as a whole was 10.5% higher than it was the previous year.

California coastline for the win

Peggy Blumenthal, senior counselor at the Institute of International Education, told the LA Times: “California has such a huge higher education network. There are not only very strong public universities, but also private universities. USC, as long as I can remember, has always been either the number one or number two host campus in the country.”

Come to California, we have redwood trees.

So there you have it, Trojans. Not only are we ranked among the top 25 universities in the United States with the hottest guys and best student life, but we also have people fighting on from literally all over the world.
