Punching Trump: We spoke to a student caught drilling the Trump punch bag

We’d all like to take out our frustration

A politically motivated punching bag appeared on campus on Friday, letting frustrated young voters take their frustration out on the presidential candidates.

It’s not clear who set up the bag, near the Patsy and Forrest Shumway Fountain, but one student clearly had some beef with Trump as he demolished the Republican candidate in a few killer blows:

Trump’s torso and head were attached to a generic punching bag, and boxing gloves were included.

We spoke to Donovan Spencer, one of the many students who lined up to punch The Donald:

Tell us about the bag, when did you see it?

I saw the Trump punching bag during a break in my classes on Friday around 1pm. There was a female student swinging at the punching bag already when I walked by. There was a Hillary mask on the ground too for anyone who wanted a change of face.

You seem to be swinging hard, why do you hate Trump?

Hate is a strong word, but the reasons I dislike Trump.

I don’t like Trump because he is undeniably a racist, uses the publicity of his own mindless and/or offensive comments and the violence of his rallies to boost his campaign, has sexually assaulted a woman and thought it was okay as a result of his wealth, fame, and status, and is untrustworthy.

He’s racist because of his stance on Muslims and Mexicans, and he is untrustworthy because he dodges taxes, which he publicly admitted to in the 2nd debate, has been accused of not properly paying his employees, and does not explain his plans in full detail.

So can we assume you’ll vote for Hillary?

I will be voting for Hillary Clinton. I understand that she has several flaws as a candidate as well, but I feel as though she is a better option than Donald Trump. I choose to exercise my right to vote even though many people are choosing not to vote in this upcoming election as a result of their not liking either candidate.
