Allen Artis’ attorney says UNC found no violation in sexual assault case

Football player Allen Artis continues to face two misdemeanor charges

UNC cleared suspended football player Allen Artis in the sexual assault case against him, according to a statement released Thursday by his attorney. She said the university’s Title IX office, in their independent investigation, found no violation by Artis of UNC’s sexual misconduct policy.

Artis faces two misdemeanor charges of sexual assault and battery on UNC junior Delaney Robinson. The trial has not been scheduled. He remains indefinitely suspended from the football team.

Robinson released a statement in September 2016 regarding the sexual assault case, alleging Artis raped her on February 14th, 2016. Artis denied the claims, and turned himself into the police.
