A Tar Heel’s guide to drinking cheap every day of the week

It’s always happy hour somewhere here in Chapel Hill

If you’re having a stressful day – or let’s admit it, week – then there’s no better way to unwind than saving money while drinking a cold one at your favorite Chapel Hill bars. Here’s the best places for a cheap college binge every day of the week.

Monday

Sup Dogs is a God-sent for your Monday blues. Even if your day includes 4 classes back to back, you’ll always have something to look forward to with Mug Night. On Mondays at Sup Dogs you can bring in any shape, size, or color mug – up to 32 ounces – and get it filled with your favorite beer or cider for only $2 or $3. You’ll not only get a buzz but also be surrounded by an energetic crowd and cheesy tots!

Tuesday

Tuesday means one thing: Tequila Tuesdays at The Library! Get your groove on with $2 Tequila shots and The Library’s rave-like dance floor. No need to worry about the exam you took earlier when you can let the Dancing Queen inside of you shine bright! Plus, The Library is right next to Benny’s. Thats a true two for one.

Wednesday

Wednesdays are for the beloved Pint Nights at He’s Not Here. Rotating each week on a variety of pints, you get a He’s Not cup full of beer along with a fancy pint glass for only $8. After a few Wednesdays, you’ll find yourself needing to invest in a good shelf to display your impressive pint glass collection.

Thursday

Thirsty Thursdays are for Country Fried Duck. There may be a $3 cover but the drink special makes it worth it: $2.50 any drink! This includes LIT’s, so be careful. With a $2.50 LIT in your hand, you can dance the night away while forgetting about that 9am class. That’s fine, because there is no way you’re making it.

Friday

Fridays are for being fancy. And there’s no better way to feel fancy than enjoying a cool laid back vibe with a full bottle of wine for $4 off at Tru Deli & Wine.

Saturday

Saturday’s not only get to start with sleeping the day away but end with drinking your day away. At Carolina Coffee Shop, you can get a Long Island Ice Tea for just $4. Sometimes people forget there’s a full bar at CCS, which is a shame because its a Franklin Street fave.

Sunday

What better way to end/start the week than with bottomless mimosas at R&R for just $15. Go ahead and start on that forgotten homework while you enjoy delicious bubbly orange juice. Just remember to double check your spelling before you turn that Sunday afternoon paper in! Chances are the champagne has you spelling things a little crazy.

Alright, 21+ Tar Heels! Now its your turn. Please get turnt responsibly.
