BREAKING: McCrory concedes to Cooper

Governor Pat McCrory offers his support to Governor-Elect Cooper

After one of the closest gubernatorial races in North Carolina and a month of contested results, Governor Pat McCrory conceded to Attorney General Roy Cooper earlier today. He released a statement online addressing the race and his appreciation of our free country.

In the video, Governor McCrory states he is “proud [his] team leaves the state a much better place than when [they] came into office.”

According to the NC State Board of Elections, Cooper leads McCrory with 10,263 votes as of Monday afternoon. He will be the 75th Governor of North Carolina.

McCrory insists that his administration team will do everything they can to assist Governor-Elect Cooper in his transition to office. Before McCrory leaves, his team will develop a new financial plan for recovery efforts after Hurricane Matthew and the recent wildfires in western N.C.

Congratulations Governor-Elect Cooper!
