UNC football player accused of battery and assault: ‘I did not rape her’

Allen Artis made his first public statement

Allen Artis, the UNC football linebacker facing sexual assault and battery charges, has issued his first public statement.

He said he and Delaney Robinson, the UNC sophomore who brought forward the case, had consensual sex and he did not rape or drug her.

According to ESPN, Artis’s attorney Kerry Sutton said Artis passed a polygraph test regarding the incident in February, and is eager to get the case behind him.

Artis said, “Everything was completely consensual that happened that night. That’s the truth.”

Robinson held a press conference on September 13 to say UNC and DPS failed to hold her rapist accountable after she was assaulted on campus in February of this year.

Artis’s next court date is set for this Thursday, September 29.
