A fire alarm went off in Morrison, leaving residents to stand in the pouring rain

Now everyone is cranky

A little after 5.30am this morning, a fire alarm went off in Morrison dorm. Students stood outside in the pouring rain for around 30 minutes before firefighters left and they were allowed to re-enter.

Many reported the alarm sounded like trucks backing up, but they rushed outside when they realized it was a fire alarm. The stairwells were crowded with students filing down all the way from the 10th floor.

It was pouring cold rain, and although a few people came prepared with umbrellas in hand, most of us huddled under the covered sidewalks.

Fire trucks arrived around 15 minutes afterwards. Around 6am, the alarms stopped and everyone filed back inside to their warm beds.

It was probably the worst for the 8am-ers, and a lot of people just stayed awake instead of fighting the crowds back up the stairs.
