Shooters bar says it will ban you – just because you go to UNC
In a Facebook post, it said UNC is no longer allowed in the d00k bar
As if we didn’t have enough of a reason to hate Durham, a post on the Shooters Saloon Facebook page suggested the bar will no longer allow UNC students.
The post, which has since been deleted from the page, accused UNC students of being disrespectful and physically assaulting the bartenders.
A “situation” occurring on Wednesday night at the bar appeared to have sparked the post.
It read: “Y’ALL COME TO DURHAM BECAUSE YOU CAN’T GO TO YOUR OWN BARS IN CHAPEL HILL ACCORDING TO Y’ALL.
“SO AT THIS POINT GOING FORWARD MY BUSINESS, MY LICENSE, MY EMPLOYEES CAN’T RISK EVERYTHING BY LETTING Y’ALL IN.”
Many UNC students and alumni responded in the comments.
The poster replied to many of the comments with, “PLEASE DON’T COME BACK” or “Thank you for your comment.”
Some commenters speculated that Shooters’ rash decision was discriminatory.
Others reminded the bar to think about their market. They are losing a huge percentage of their drinkers – and every hot person in the club – by cutting off UNC students.
