Unidentified man found dead near UMass campus

Over the past several days, rumors of the death of a UMass student have spread like wildfire. Some students said they heard a man hit his head and fell into a creek while running away from police, but he didn't go to UMass.
Monday afternoon, the Northwest District Attorney's Office confirmed that a college-aged man was discovered dead just outside of the UMass campus, calling the death of said individual "accidental" and "unattended", according to MassLive.
The investigation is still in progress and details as to the identity, location and time of death and discovery have not yet been released.
UMass denied that the incident occurred on campus property and confirmed that the male does not attend the university.
The Amherst Police will issue a statement to be released tomorrow.
