UCSB students vote to allocate $50k more to Associated Students body

The funding will go towards teaching students about credit and providing them with legal consultations

Despite many disapproving of next year’s tuition fee hike, UCSB students have now voted to pay even more money each year.

Every year, Gauchos pay over $350 towards the Associated Students body.

Yesterday’s vote saw over 60 percent of Gauchos voted to increase their service fees by a further $3.34.

That extra money will add over $50,000 to the AS coffer and help fund two specific grants.

The Community Financial Fund teaches undergraduates about student loans and credit and provides access to financial grants.

The Legal Resource Center provides students with free legal consultations.
