UCSB student found dead by Campus Point

‘Everything he did, he did with a smile’

According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriffs Office, today UCSB student Parker James Williams passed away out by Campus Point.  He was discovered by a jogger at around 7am.

UCPD has ruled that his death did not involve any foul play and was most likely a suicide.  Parker had previously taken time off during spring quarter from UCSB and was staying with his family in Orange County until fall quarter of 2017, to where he planned to return to UCSB.

Parker was a second year psychology and history double major at UCSB and an active member of the UCSB Adventure Programs.

Parker enjoyed running, backpacking, and was an outstandingly hard worker. He was incredibly dependable and did everything with 110 percent effort.  Parker had a truly kind soul and was an amazing person.

His boss at the Adventure Programs described him as “a great young man.”

Everything he did, he did with a smile.
