UCSB Men’s Basketball appoint Pasternack as head coach

He might help the team bounce back to their former glory

The UCSB Men’s Basketball Team has appointed Joe Pasternack as its new head coach.

He was previously the Associate Head Coach at the University of Arizona. He worked there for six years and built quite the reputation for himself. During his time with the Wildcats, he helped land the team a top-five recruiting class for four years running.

He also received praise for advancing the team to five NCAA Tournaments, two Sweet 16s and a pair of Elite Eights.

The hiring of Pasternack comes after the Gauchos decided not to renew Bob Williams’s contract after a 19-year stint.

Fans of the team hold high hopes for the new head coach. Many will be expecting Pasternack to help the team bounce back to its former glory after an especially unsuccessful season.

The team set a school record for losses this past season, and it didn’t qualify for the Big West Conference Tournament for the first time since 1998.
