We asked Gauchos who they wanted to play Extravaganza 2016

No one said Rae Sremmurd

Extravaganza is just around the corner and guessing the lineup is always tough.

We asked some UCSB students and a few alumni who they would’ve loved to see at UCSB’s Extravaganza.

Connor, 1st year Econ (left); Miko, 1st Year Bio Major (Right)

Connor: “I think Fetty Wap would be so fucking lit.  Let’s see.  Jay Z and Kanye…  I would see Snoop again.”

Miko:  “I want Kanye West to play at Extravaganza.  I want to hear his new album live.”

Lauren (middle), Communications Major, Alumni

“Anyone that is as good as Diplo for Extravaganza is a great pick.  So hopefully they can pick someone that can throw it down and get anyone up on stage and just have a fun and great time.”

Randy, 2nd Year Psych

“I would really like to see Angel Haze.  Pretty much any big female performer because we haven’t really had a big main female headliner.  A badass female performer would be sick.  It would make my day.  Maybe the Spice Girls.

Andrea, 2nd Year, Art Major (Left); Esther, English Major, Class of 2015 (Right)

Andrea:  “To be honest, I don’t follow many music groups.  I know my friends really like Panic! At the Disco.”

Esther:  “I think it would so great if the Chainsmokers came to Extravaganza.  That would be awesome.  EDM!”

Jacob, Global Studies with Art & Architecture Minor, Class of 2015

“If I were going to Extravaganza, I would’ve liked to hear Nahko & Medicine for the People.”

Left to right:  Gabriela, 2nd Year Environmental Studies; Julia, 2nd Year Psychology, Karina, 2nd Year Biology; Jenny 2nd Year Psychology

Kendrick vs. Drake (3-1)

Why Kendrick?

Gabriela:  “Because he’s great.  He’s a really good rapper.  When I hear his music, it makes me want to dance.

Karina:  “Yeah, it gets me turnt.”

Gabriela:  “That’s what we all want to get at Extravaganza.”

Why Drake:

Jenny:  “Because all his songs are really bomb.  Like, Hotline Bling.”

Kelli Poli Sci 3rd Year (right); Sam Philosophy and Psych Senior (left)

Kelli:  “”I’d love to see RL Grime or the Red Hot Chili Peppers.”

Sam: “I’d say the same.  Especially the Red Hot Chili Peppers.  That would be really awesome.”
