BREAKING: UConn buildings out of power after ‘downed’ power line causes hazardous situation
Classes are canceled
A “downed power line” on North Eagleville Rd caused UConn to issue an emergency alert to all students this morning, according to a fire official. They reported a “Hazardous situation” outside of Torrey Life Sciences at 11.23am this morning.
The area between the Wilbur Atwater Laboratory and the Torrey Life Sciences is caution-taped and students should avoid the area at all costs. Eversource Power Company vehicles are on the scene addressing the downed line, police officials are directing traffic at the scene.
The Northwest Dining hall and the Hartford building at the North dormitories are out of power. Classes in any buildings without power are canceled.
