Bob Diaco earned $1.55 million last year

Overachieving, overdressed, overpaid

Our football coach Bob Diaco, is making it rain, drawing in a salary of $1.55 million (bonuses not included).

He’s sitting comfortably as the 59th highest paid collegiate coach, making just about twice as much as president Susan Herbst.

Bob Diaco won two games last year, which equates to $750,000 for each victory.

For what we spent on him, we could buy a Lamborghini for the football team and let them do donuts on the field if they win, and we’d still have enough money to cover the cost.

This isn’t the first time we’ve burnt money in a trash can on the football program.

Back in 2006 we spent $57.9 million to build our football players a nice big, modern, training facility so they could throw their ball and run around in privacy.

Since 2006, UConn has bought 37 Lamborghini’s worth of football facilities and coaching.  And we’ve only had a winning record four times.

If a custodian worked 40 hour weeks at UConn, they would make 0.04% of what Diaco makes now.

Let’s be honest, we should probably just stick to basketball.
